Winter skincare tips

Don't Let Your Skin Suffer This Winter

Winter is the season when our skin suffers the most, lower humidity levels, extreme cold, wind and heating can cause dry, tight, flakey, dehydrated skin.

Exfoliate

Exfoliating twice a week encourages cell turnover and increases circulation, and allows your serums & moisturizers to absorb nicely into the skin.
Try ‘O Cosmedics’ Exfoliating Cleanser $62 twice a week. For a salon treatment try our Enzymatic Pomegranate peel $90

Humidifiers

Heaters and Air Conditioners are often the culprits of dry air in the workplace or at home and the bane of skin care in winter! By hooking up a humidifier in your home or office, you’ll find that your skin and eyes will thank you for it.

Moisturisers

The lighter moisturisers we used in the summer will need replacing for something richer come winter.
We love ‘O Cosmedics’ Recovery cream $102

Oil

To boost to your night-time routine add a little oil to your moisturizer at night. Your skin will absorb more when its in rest mode, alleviating that tight, dry feeling!
A Beauty Emporium favorite is Youth Activating Balm $79

Treatments

Your skin may just need some extra TLC in winter, relax in one of our heated beds, under the doona while we treat, plump & hydrate your skin.
Our 10 step Emporium Escape facial is a perfect winter treatment, $79

Diet

Keep hydrated – We often forget to drink when its cold, the cool air lacks moisture and can be extremely dehydrating. Aim to drink 2 litres of water every day.

Eat plenty of Essential Fatty Acids’s. There is growing evidence that they assist in keeping skin moisturised, smooth and healthy. They also have anti-inflammatory effects and can relieve eczema symptoms. Good sources include oily fish, raw seeds and nuts and avocados, plus supplements of pure fish oil, flaxseed oil and evening primrose oil.

Chapped lips is one of the most common complaints– look for a lip balm that includes one or more of these ingredients ; bees wax, shea butter, lanolin or paw paw.
We love Australian made ‘Lanolips’ in either the original formula or one of the gorgeous tints.
